Here are some tips for creating a beautiful vignet Here are some tips for creating a beautiful vignette in your home.
1. Start with a focal point: this beautiful Demilune chest fits perfectly in the alcove we created in this living room. This was a family heirloom and we highlighted it by creating this special spot for it.
2. Consider the wall: always take into account the wall behind the vignette. If it is plain, you can consider, adding a beautiful painting to complement the colors in the room. Also consider wallpaper or an accent paint color to make it feel special.
3. Balance and symmetry: aim for symmetry and balance in your vignette. If you have a larger item on one side, try to balance it with something of a similar visual weight, yet contrast in texture and color on the other side. This can create a sense of harmony and cohesion
4. Pay attention to lighting: lighting plays a crucial role in highlighting your vignette. Ensure that there is adequate lighting in the area to accentuate the elements - consider table lamps and picture lighting to create the desired ambience. And don't forget about natural light in the room!
5. Don't forget the accessories. A few specially selected accessories provide contrast in color and texture and add a great deal to any vignette.
Remember, creating a beautiful vignette is a subjective process, and it's essential to trust your own aesthetic preferences with your designer an experiment until you've achieved a composition that's pleasing.

Struggling to find the right balance of lighting? Struggling to find the right balance of lighting? Let's talk about how to brighten up your space effectively. Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood and functionality of your home. Here are some of my favorite things to remember when considering lighting.
1. Layer your lighting: instead of relying solely on one overhead light, layer your lighting with a mix of sources. Combine ambient lighting, such as a beautiful chandelier, with task lighting by like in cabinet and bookcase lighting.
2. Know your Bulb types. Different bulb types produce varying intensity of light. Use warm tone bulbs (2700k or less) for a cozy, inviting atmosphere and choose cool tone bulbs (3000k or more) for well lit, work spaces.
3. Use dimmers: incorporate dimmer switches to control the brightness of your spaces. This allows you to adjust the lighting according to the time of day or mood you are wanting to accomplish in your spaces.
4. Embrace, natural light: maximize natural light during the day by keeping curtains or blinds open(and properly hanging window treatments to get the most light). Natural light not only enhances the aesthetics, but also contributes to your well-being.
